Clé de Peau Beauté, the luxury skincare and makeup brand of Shiseido Company Limited, supports UNICEF's efforts to educate and empower girls around the world. Clé de Peau Beauté is the first Japanese brand to commit to a multi-year global partnership with UNICEF.
In celebration of International Women’s Day 2019, UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Muzoon Almellehan was recognized at the luxury brand’s inaugural Power of Radiance program for her work with UNICEF in advocating for girls. In honor of Almellehan, Clé de Peau Beauté donated to UNICEF. Later that year on International Day of the Girl, Clé de Peau Beauté pledged $8.7 million—the largest single-project contribution to UNICEF—to support gender equality programs. This launched the official partnership and the Unlock the Power of Girls: The Key to a Better World campaign.
Empowering girls with education
Clé de Peau Beauté’s funds help UNICEF in Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan and Niger, among other countries and regions, promote inclusive education in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) – areas which are traditionally unaccessible for girls. Through UNICEF programs, girls also learn skills such as self-confidence, teamwork and decision making and have access to mentorships to further prepare them for the workforce. The partnership supports UNICEF education, employment and empowerment programs that reach 6.5 million girls every year.
The Serum: supporting girls empowerment programs with each purchase
For every purchase of The Serum*, Clé de Peau Beauté makes a donation to UNICEF to help fund education opportunities for girls, donating up to $2.9 million each year. The Serum is the flagship product for the ongoing #UnlockThePower #KeyToABetterWorld campaign.
“The addition of UNICEF as a partner complements the brand’s efforts to spotlight education and aligns with our corporate vision for social value creation,” said Ms. Yukari Suzuki, Chief Brand Officer of Clé de Peau Beauté. “At Clé de Peau Beauté, we believe that the key to a brighter tomorrow is to unlock the potential of girls. Together, we aim to empower our people in taking a proactive stance with this program to make a tangible, positive difference in the world.”
