Disney Friends for Change Games - Let the games begin!
Let the Games Begin! That was the cheer of our friends over at Disney's Friends for Change. because today marks the premiere of "Disney's Friends for Change Games," where more than 30 Disney Channel and Disney XD stars from around the globe will compete in a series of fun, physical challenges inspired by everyday "green" acts.
Over five weeks, four teams will play Olympic style, eco-themed games similar to the online Energy Dance Battle, which I've become addicted to (anyone remember Simon?? It's like that, but with dancing). As part of the games, Disney will make a $125,000 donation to each charity the teams are representing. Plus, the winning team's charity will receive an additional $100,000 donation from Disney. Disney's support will benefit UNICEF's Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programs around the globe; through WASH programs, UNICEF is giving young people what they need to protect natural resources and their own health.

We're so excited to have the Yellow team representing UNICEF at this year's games. I personally can't wait to tune in and see our Yellow team captain, Bridgit Mendler (Star of Disney Channel's original movie "Lemonade Mouth") and the rest of team Yellow bring it on. Earlier this week I downloaded the latest Disney's Friends for Change anthem, "We Can Change the World," which Bridgit happens to have co-written and performed. It's been on loop in my office for the last few days and let me tell you, we CAN change the world!
Oh and if you're looking to get in on the action and be a part of Disney's Friends for Change Games and support the U.S. Fund for UNICEF check out Disney.com/projectgreen. Play the online versions of the games and donate earned points to team Yellow. If team Yellow has the most online points, they'll be named the regional "Fan Favorite" team and be awarded an additional $100,000 to support TeachUNICEF, which provides information and activities for youth in the U.S. understand the challenges children in developing countries face every day.
So, LET THE GAMES BEGIN!
