The world's 600 million adolescent girls are the innovators, the artists, the scientists, the mentors — the supergirls — of tomorrow.

But poverty, violence and lack of opportunity disproportionately affect girls and women. And without an education, girls cannot achieve their full potential.

More than 130 million girls are out of school around the world today. Educating girls strengthens economies, improves public health, makes countries less likely to fall into conflict and even slows climate change.

Given the right tools and opportunities, there’s no limit to what today's young women can accomplish. In 2017, UNICEF, with Gucci as a founding partner, launched the Girls Empowerment initiative to help girls boost their digital skills to organize, to be heard, to be the change. Girls are standing up and speaking out in the schools, in the streets and online, empowering themselves and engaging others.
