Sophia is a high school senior in New York City. She is passionate about the intersection of computer science and government and enjoys exploring the impact of technology on legislation and how it shapes the functioning of governments. She actively engages in local advocacy, fostering civic engagement in underrepresented communities and promoting student rights. As a part of ARISTA executive leadership, her school's honor society, and co-president of Girls Who Code, Sophia volunteers and mentors in various programs. She also contributes to her school's Diversity Equity and Inclusion team through freshman seminars and helps lead the Science Olympiad Physics Team. She enjoys running, playing lacrosse, and writing opinion articles for her school's newspaper in her free time. Sophia aspires to become a professor, combining NGOs and academia to leverage foundational education through humanitarian efforts.
