Partner since 1988

Delta Sigma Theta (DST) Sorority, Inc. is an organization of college educated women committed to the constructive development of its members and to public service with a primary focus on the Black community.

DST chapters have supported UNICEF's education, gender equity, girls empowerment, health and protection programs in Africa and the Caribbean since 1988. The decades of engagement with individual chapters grew into an official, national partnership.

Delta Sigma Theta chapters support UNICEF through fundraising and by educating regional chapters.

Responding to COVID-19 and protecting children in Africa and Haiti

Millions of children around the world — particularly children from impoverished families and children who are on the move, displaced by conflict or the effects of climate change — are at risk of trafficking, violence and exploitation. The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated all of these risks.

DST chapters have supported both UNICEF's COVID-19 response and child protection programming in Africa by educating their membership, increasing public awareness and raising funds.

For World Children's Day 2021, DST and UNICEF USA teamed up for a social action campaign in support of UNICEF's emergency response in Haiti.
