Kate is currently Counsel for the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, which is conducting an investigation into Russian activities related to the 2016 U.S. presidential election. Prior to that, Kate served as a member of the Policy Planning Staff and a Special Advisor to Secretary of State John F. Kerry at the end of the Obama Administration. She also worked on the Financial Crisis Response Team at the U.S. Department of Treasury following the 2008 financial crisis.

Kate graduated from Yale Law School and summa cum laude from Harvard College, where she sailed on the Varsity Sailing Team and was President of the Hasty Pudding Club, the nation's oldest social club and a non-profit institute devoted to the arts. She also served a law clerk for the Honorable Jose A. Cabranes on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court of Review.

Kate joined UNICEF in 2016 after seeing the enormous impact of its work for children across the globe. She currently serves on the New York Steering Committee for UNICEF NextGen and is Chair of the Governance Committee. In addition to UNICEF, Kate helped found the Brookings Society, which supports education and knowledge on our toughest policy challenges. She is also a young patron of the Public Art Fund and the Alvin Ailey Dance Company.

Kate grew up in New York City and attended the Fieldston School. She is an avid skier and passionate advocate for human rights, free press, free speech, rule of law, and democracy.
