Kate is currently Counsel for the Minority on the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. Prior to that, Kate served as a member of the Policy Planning Staff and a Special Advisor to Secretary of State John Kerry at the end of the Obama Administration. She also worked at the U.S. Department of Treasury on the financial crisis response following the 2008 Crisis. 

Kate graduated from Yale Law School and summa cum laude from Harvard College, where she sailed on the Varsity Sailing Team. She served as a law clerk for the Honorable Jose Cabranes on the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court of Review.

Outside work, she is an avid skier and passionate advocate for free speech, human rights, and democracy. Kate chairs the Governance Committee for UNICEF NextGen New York and is a CFR Term Member. Kate grew up in New York City.
