While in Cairo in 2022, Alyssa visited educational programs for children and mothers, as well as the Dawwie Initiative developed by UNICEF and partners to support gender equality, allowing for her to join the dialogue about young women’s challenges and how to help them reach their full potential.

Alyssa has been featured in multiple UNICEF campaigns and lent her voice for the "Change for Good" video on American Airlines flights, encouraging passengers to donate unused currency to UNICEF.

A fundraising pioneer bringing awareness to global emergencies

A fundraising pioneer, Alyssa launched a virtual baby shower in 2011 to raise funds for UNICEF instead of receiving gifts for the birth of her first child and raised $300,000 for UNICEF's Haiti Emergency Relief Fund through a Twitter challenge in January 2010. She continues to utilize her own social platforms to bring awareness to UNICEF emergency response efforts worldwide.
