Mahmoud

Mahmoud is from Minnesota and immigrated to the U.S. from Eritrea with his family in 2019. He was an executive board member of his high school's UNICEF Club and is now excited to join the National Youth Council. Throughout his high school career, Mahmoud was actively involved in his community. He served on his city's youth council, volunteered for local programs and led youth mentorship initiatives. He also worked with state representatives to raise awareness about issues affecting young people and helped foster STEM education. Mahmoud is passionate about addressing educational inequality and advocating for children's rights. As an incoming student at Duke University, he plans to explore his interests in Economics, Computer Science and Public Policy. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, programming and watching movies.
