Fairoz

Fairoz is a student at Saddleback College with family roots in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. This is her first year on the National Youth Council. Fairoz became a UNICEF Club president at her high school because she’s seen firsthand how children’s voices are often overlooked in decisions that affect them, and she is passionate about changing that. One way she worked towards this change was by leading her UNICEF Club to partner with their local library and organize a community book drive focused specifically on titles that teens and young adults would actually want to read. This event deepened her desire to advocate for children and youth literacy, and educational equity more broadly. Fairoz plans to transfer to a University of California campus, studying Political Science. Outside of her work with UNICEF USA, she enjoys baking, drawing, reading, listening to music, spending time with family, and journaling!
