Michael McCaul

Michael T. McCaul currently represents Texas’ 10th Congressional District and has spent more than two decades working to strengthen U.S. national security and advance American leadership around the world. His work has focused heavily on foreign affairs, counterterrorism, and protecting the United States and its allies from emerging global threats.

McCaul previously served as Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the House Homeland Security Committee. Prior to his time in Congress, he served as Chief of Counterterrorism and National Security in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Texas, where he led the Joint Terrorism Task Force. He also served as Texas Deputy Attorney General and as a federal prosecutor in the Department of Justice’s Public Integrity Section.

A fourth-generation Texan, McCaul earned his bachelor’s degree from Trinity University and his J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law. He and his wife, Linda, live in Austin and have five children.
