UNICEF USA Announces New Appointments to Board of Directors
NEW YORK (July 2, 2026) – UNICEF USA today announced the appointment of Jeremy Barber, Michael T. McCaul, and Jon Tester, to its national Board of Directors, effective July 1, 2026. Additionally, UNICEF USA announced long-standing board member Robert T. Brown will assume the role of Chair of the Board of Directors, and Carol Hamilton will serve as Vice-Chair.
The appointments expand UNICEF USA’s national board and bring together distinguished leaders across government, public service, entertainment, philanthropy, and global affairs in support of its vision to create a world where every child is healthy, educated, respected and protected.
“We are honored to welcome Jeremy Barber, Michael T. McCaul, and Jon Tester to UNICEF USA’s national Board of Directors,” said UNICEF USA President & CEO Michael J. Nyenhuis. “Each of these leaders brings a remarkable record of service, leadership, and commitment to improving the lives of children. Their diverse perspectives and expertise will help UNICEF USA continue advancing our mission at a critical moment for children around the world. We are deeply grateful for their willingness to serve on the board.”
Jeremy Barber is a Partner in the Motion Picture Literary and Talent Departments at United Talent Agency and has held leadership roles across entertainment, production, law, and public service. Prior to joining UTA, Barber was President of Catch 23 and Catch 23 UK, where he executive produced films including One Hour Photo and represented clients including Steven Soderbergh and Renée Zellweger. He has also served on numerous nonprofit, educational, and cultural boards, including organizations focused on homelessness, storytelling, education, and public health.
“My mother, a leading education reformer, instilled in me the belief that every child enters the world free of blame, with the right to have a meaningful life and to thrive,” said Barber. “Joining the board answers my mother’s call. I look forward to bringing my experience in the storytelling business to help amplify and support UNICEF USA’s critical mission.”
Michael T. McCaul has dedicated his career to public service in national security, international affairs, and the rule of law. His commitment to international affairs and humanitarian engagement reflects UNICEF USA’s mission to advance the rights and well-being of children worldwide.
"I have spent my career working to make our country stronger,” said McCaul. “I look forward to taking on a new role as a member of UNICEF USA's Board of Directors. UNICEF's work around the world keeps Americans safe at home, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to support that work."
Jon Tester is a third-generation Montana farmer who has farmed the same land his grandparents homesteaded since 1978. During his time in public service, Tester focused on issues ranging from agricultural policy to infrastructure investment, clean air and water, and combating poverty. His lifelong dedication to fighting hunger and advocating for vulnerable rural communities directly aligns with UNICEF USA’s mission to ensure every child has access to nutrition, health care, and opportunity.
“My wife and I have spent a lifetime growing good food for people to eat,” said Tester. “Now it is a pleasure to look for ways to continue to feed our children utilizing UNICEF as the delivery system, and given what I have learned in family farm agriculture and in government.”
UNICEF USA also announced that Robert T. Brown will become the organization’s next Board Chair. Brown, CEO of Lincoln International, has served on UNICEF USA’s Board of Directors since 2020 and previously served on UNICEF USA’s Advisory Board of Chicago. Brown has been a dedicated advocate for children globally through his leadership and philanthropic engagement.
“Rob has been an extraordinary leader and champion for UNICEF USA,” said Michael J. Nyenhuis. “As Board Chair, his vision, integrity, and commitment to children will help guide UNICEF USA into its next chapter of impact and growth.”
UNICEF USA also announced that Carol J Hamilton will serve as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors. Carol J. Hamilton, a long-time member of the UNICEF USA board, recently stepped down as Group President of Acquisitions, Business Development and West Coast Headquarters, L'Oréal, USA.
