Pledge for equality
Girls face a disproportionate amount of violence and discrimination — from sex-selective abortion to female genital mutilation to simply being denied access to education. Violence against women and girls is one of the largest threats to human rights persisting today.
Girls and women deserve better — and, together, we can help. Sign the pledge today to advocate for gender equality with UNICEF.
UNICEF works everyday to empower girls and women, which in turn helps everyone. Research has shown time and time again that improving the lives of girls and women has a positive ripple effect that extends far beyond the individual.
Sign up today to fight for girl’s equality with UNICEF. You can help:
End child marriage: In Malawi over 50% of girls are married before adulthood, and in Sub-Saharan Africa, a staggering 27% of girls have given birth by age 18.
Fight for access to education for women and girls: In 2013, an estimated 31 million primary school-age girls were out of school, keeping them from fulfilling their full potential.
Protect them from violence: Gender-based violence is endemic: Worldwide, an estimated 35% of women have experienced physical or sexual violence in their lives. Young girls are particularly vulnerable to sexual exploitation, trafficking, and abuse.
Join us in the call to do more to advance equality for girls and women. Together we can show world leaders that there is a critical mass of people willing to take action against discrimination and violence.
By signing up, you’ll join us in our mission to fight for the survival and development of all children. As a valued member of our community, you’ll be the first to hear about UNICEF's child survival programs and emergency relief efforts.
