Samiaht
Samiaht is a student at the University of Texas at San Antonio majoring in Business Analytics and minoring in Information Systems. Now in her third year on the National Youth Council, she serves as a Senior National Youth Council Leader. From a young age, Samiaht has been inspired by UNICEF’s work to create positive change through advocacy and by promoting equality and equity. This inspired her belief that making meaningful contributions to one's community is a shared social responsibility. Samiaht’s journey with UNICEF USA began through her hometown’s effort to become recognized as a UNICEF Child Friendly City. As a member of the city’s youth council, she went on to co-found a youth-led civic engagement organization. These experiences, combined with her two years on the National Youth Council, have strengthened her commitment to leaving her community better than she found it. Beyond her work with UNICEF USA, Samiaht enjoys volunteering in her community and participating in her university’s Professional Business Women Society. In her free time, she loves to cook, bake, read, and attend church services.
