Jazmine

Jazmine is a student at Barnard College of Columbia University, studying Political Science and Human Rights.  Now in her third year on the National Youth Council, she serves as a Senior National Youth Council Leader. Originally from California, Jazmine is a passionate advocate for children's rights, gender equity, and youth civic engagement. As a member of the UNICEF USA National Youth Council, she works to elevate youth voices and advance policies that support children and young people worldwide. Jazmine currently serves as a legislative intern for a California State Senator through the Equality California Institute and as a National Teen Advisor for Girl Up USA, where she leads initiatives focused on girls' safety and empowerment. She is also an Electoral Fellow with Columbia University Democrats and a staff writer for the Barnard Bulletin, covering campus and political issues. Her advocacy experience includes presenting to national audiences on youth leadership, advocating on Capitol Hill for children's rights, and organizing community programs through her region’s YWCA. Through her work in policy, journalism, and advocacy, Jazmine is committed to creating a more equitable future for young people. In her free time, she enjoys running, baking, and traveling to new places!
