Heldana

Heldana is from California and is of Eritrean heritage. This is her second year on the National Youth Council.  She became involved with UNICEF USA because she believes every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background or circumstances. Passionate about advocacy, youth empowerment, and creating meaningful change, Heldana is committed to amplifying children's voices and advancing policies that improve communities both locally and globally. Currently a college student, she is pursuing a future career in Law and International Policy, with a particular interest in Human Rights, Global Affairs, and Public Service. Beyond her work with UNICEF USA, she serves her community by mentoring younger students and helping organize community-focused events that promote education, service, and civic engagement. Heldana also enjoys spending quality time with family and friends and hopes to continue using advocacy, policy, and leadership to create lasting positive change throughout her career.
