Kostiantyn

Kostiantyn is originally from Ukraine and moved to the United States to study at a college prep school in Iowa. This is his first year on the National Youth Council. Kostiantyn decided to join UNICEF USA because of his deep commitment to child wellbeing, shaped by four years as a camp counselor at a local Catholic parish. He was also inspired by his role as the Head of the Biology and Chemistry Department at an organization that provides free classes for low-income children. Having personally experienced the trauma of war and the hurdles of a low-income background, Kostiantyn is dedicated to advocating for children’s rights, especially their mental health, and equal access to affordable education. Beyond advocacy, he is active in research and science fair competitions, conducting and presenting his own research. Kostiantyn also spent eight years at music school and graduated with a degree in piano.  Today, he finds peace by walking after a summer rain with music in his headphones.
