MICHELE WALSH IS EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT AT UNICEF USA.

Michele is a social impact leader leveraging multi-disciplinary expertise to drive organizational transformation.

As Executive Vice President at UNICEF USA, Michele leads on defining and advancing the organization's strategic and operational goals. She works in close coordination with the CEO to lead organizational planning, coordination of the global relationship with UNICEF, and leads public policy efforts. Michele supports National Board governance and facilitates the collective work of the Leadership Team.

Michele balances more than 20 years of nonprofit experience with a forward-thinking approach. She has served in several leadership roles at UNICEF USA with a laser focus on results. As Vice President of Development, she mobilized internal stakeholders and external partners to advance unprecedented annual growth resulting in more than $500M in private sector support. As Managing Director of the New York region, Michele built and mobilized a diverse board and staff that leveraged market knowledge to consistently out-perform targets.

Inspired by volunteer work, Michele began her career as a social worker in foster care, later supervising mentoring and youth programs. Early career experience shaped her desire to address inequity through systemic change. At the Urban Justice Center, she served as Director of Development and mobilized support for anti-poverty work in NYC, before joining UNICEF for a global approach.

Michele earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Urban Planning from Washington University in St. Louis.

She lives in Brooklyn, NY with her partner and three daughters. She loves good conversation, good analytics, and dancing in the living room with her family.
