The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee acts on behalf of North America's Jewish communities and others to provide non-sectarian emergency relief and long-term development assistance worldwide.
Six months after the earthquake in Haiti, the JDC donated $240,000 towards UNICEF Haiti's Child Protection sector that will help build and support child-friendly spaces.
Recently, JDC also supported UNICEF's emergency appeal for Pakistan with another generous gift. Due to JDC's dedication, these funds will help families and communities better care for and protect their children by establishing safe and stimulating environments for ALL children. JDC's non-sectarian disaster relief programs are funded by special appeals of the Jewish Federations of North America and tens of thousands of individual donors to JDC.
JDC is the world's leading Jewish humanitarian assistance organization. JDC works in more than 70 countries and in Israel to alleviate hunger and hardship, rescue Jews in danger, create lasting connections to Jewish life, and provide immediate relief and long-term development support for victims of natural and man-made disasters.
