Sports Partnerships

UNICEF USA has developed a robust network of U.S.-based leagues, teams, and individual athletes who advocate and fundraise on behalf of UNICEF's mission: to ensure that every child is healthy, educated, protected and respected.

UNICEF USA sports partnerships: harnessing the uniting power of sports to bring focus to the global issues facing children today

Sports play a key role in the work of UNICEF. In the field, sport is a critical tool in fostering community engagement, teaching kids about teamwork and inclusion, creating safe spaces, and overall childhood development. In the United States, we harness the uniting power of sports and bring focus to the global issues facing children today.

UNICEF USA Sports Partnerships consist of a robust network of U.S.-based leagues, teams, and individual athletes who advocate and fundraise on behalf of the UNICEF mission: save children’s lives, defend their rights, and help fulfill their potential.

Jeremy Lin, for example, has been a vocal advocate for promoting and protecting youth mental health and for the equitable distribution of vaccines to defeat COVID-19. WWE and UNICEF USA's partnership has helped empower kids to help other kids, demonstrating how these partnerships can be a tool for social good.

We are incredibly grateful for our ongoing work with MLB, MLS, NBA, NFL and WWE, and our direct partnerships with athletes, teams and leagues, including LPGA and PGA. Together, we are sharing compelling stories across channels and platforms of work being done with UNICEF to help children and rallying fans around the importance of putting children first.
