Young Professionals Step Up with UNICEF's Next Generation in Atlanta

Atlanta Welcomes UNICEF’s Next Generation, A Diverse Group of Young Leaders

In September, a group of thirty young professionals gathered at the Luminary, a new restaurant in Atlanta’s trendy Krog Street Market. The event wasn’t a typical after-work social gathering. Participants showed up to learn how to take action with UNICEF’s Next Generation, a diverse group of young leaders in their 20s and 30s who share a commitment to UNICEF’s future and a belief that all children have the chance to live a safe and healthy childhood. Across the country, Next Generation members are hosting events, educating their communities, and raising funds for UNICEF’s lifesaving work. Members nationwide are currently working together to raise $500,000 to support education in Syria and neighboring countries.

Three members of Atlanta’s young professional community are in the process of launching a NextGen chapter in Atlanta. They know that young Atlantans are ready to mobilize their international and culturally diverse city in support of UNICEF. The September event was just the first of many gatherings of this new group.
