Water in the desert: Yani Tseng plays for UNICEF
Next stop for the LPGA Tour is Wildfire Golf Club at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa in Phoenix, Ariz., for the inaugural RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup.
The entire $1 million purse will be donated to charity, with $500,000 going to The LPGA Foundation and its LPGA-USGA Girls Golf program and $500,000 going to the top-10 finishers' designated charities.
We here at the U.S. Fund for UNICEF are cheering hard for one player in particular... the world's children have an ace on their side with LPGA #1-ranked Yani Tseng playing for the U.S. Fund for UNICEF and the UNICEF Tap Project!

LPGA top golfer (and snappy dresser!) Yani Tseng will play for the U.S. Fund for UNICEF at the Founders Cup. |
Come Sunday, March 20, a top-10 finish by Tseng would help jump start the UNICEF Tap Project, which takes place World Water Week, March 20-26.
"I was touched when researching charities and I looked at the website of the UNICEF Tap Project," Tseng says. "I have a soft spot in my heart for children, so I hope my play in Phoenix can help this great cause."
Should Tseng win, her contribution would be split between the UNICEF Tap Project and UNICEF's Japan relief efforts. The UNICEF Tap Project is the U.S. Fund for UNICEF's nationwide campaign that celebrates the clean water we enjoy every day, and highlights the urgent need to provide the world's children with water that is as safe, clean, and accessible as the water we enjoy every day. Every dollar donated can provide a child in need with 40 days of safe, clean water. To learn more or to make a gift, visit www.uniceftapproject.org.
Additionally, RR Donnelley, title sponsor of this week's LPGA Founders Cup, has committed to donate $100 for every birdie and $500 for every eagle made on holes 15-18 this weekend to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF's Japan relief efforts. UNICEF has identified multiple initial areas of need for Japan's children, including getting schools back on track and securing the supplies they need for the April start of the school year. They also will set up safe recreation spaces for children, in addition to other health, nutrition, education, child protection and logistical support for Japanese national UNICEF staff.
