U.S. Fund for UNICEF and BuyCostumes.com give back to Houston Students

The U.S. Fund for UNICEF teamed up with  BuyCostumes.com to distribute 75 free Halloween costumes to students at Lakeland Elementary in Humble, Texas.

Houston was selected as one of ten stops duringBuyCostume.com's nationwide "Orange Tour" during the months of September and October. The U.S. Fund for UNICEF then nominated Lakeland Elementary to be the local recipient of BuyCostume.com's Halloween giveaway to thank the school for participating in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF. In 2012, Lakeland Elementary students raised over $3,500 for Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF in their local community.

"Halloween is a movement, not a moment, so this year we're literally rolling out the orange carpet across the nation to help Halloween fans get in the celebratory spirit, save on purchases, and donate to a great cause," stated Jennifer Dominiquini, Chief Marketing Officer of BuyCostumes.com.

BuyCostumes has generously offered to donate 10% of all sales totals of costumes purchased with the code TOT4UNICEF on BuyCostumes.com.

Houston UNICEF Community Engagement Fellow, Kate Raley, traveled to Lakeland Elementary to educate a class of 2nd graders about Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF. The children sang along to a Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF jingle and learned what UNICEF does for kids around the world- and and how they can help!

For more information about how to get your school or children involved with Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, visit the official Trick-or-Treat website at trickortreatforunicef.org, or contact Houston Fellow Kate Raley at kraley@unicefusa.org.
