Match your donation and fight malnutrition

We are asking our supporters to help us raise $200,000 by the end of the day tomorrow. This will allow UNICEF to keep supplying the therapeutic food, affordable vaccines and clean water that can help save millions of children suffering from malnutrition in the Horn of Africa and around the world.
If you are reading FieldNotes, you are well aware that there is a children's emergency in the Horn of Africa and that famine in Somalia is stealing thousands of young lives every day.

Alimamy Koroma, who is 9 months old and malnourished, eats a ready-to-use therapeutic food in a recovery area for malnourished children at the Magburaka Government Hospital in Magburaka, Sierra Leone.

UNICEF is responding to the situation, the world's worst humanitarian crisis.  But UNICEF fights malnutrition EVERY Day all over the world. As the underlying cause of more than one third of all child deaths, malnutrition is a leading killer. But it is also a pervasive and chronic threat to child welfare. When it doesn't kill outright, malnutrition saps young bodies of the strength to fight disease, the mental stamina to make the most of education and the power to break the cycle of poverty. It forces parents to make stark choices between keeping their children healthy and investing in their futures. That's why we are asking our supporters to help us raise $200,000 by the end of the day on October 18.  This will allow UNICEF to keep supplying the therapeutic food, affordable vaccines and clean water that can help save millions of children suffering from malnutrition in the Horn of Africa and around the world. Help us reach our goal. Help us fight malnutrition worldwide.
