U.S. Fund for UNICEF Names Barron Segar Senior Vice President of Development
NEW YORK (May 30, 2013) — The U.S. Fund for UNICEF today announced the appointment of Barron Segar as Senior Vice President of Development. Leading a team of 65 people across seven divisions, Segar is responsible for the strategic direction and implementation of fundraising initiatives for UNICEF within the United States.
In his new role, Segar will manage teams including Corporate Partnerships, Development, Planned Giving, Prospect Development Strategies, Special Events, Direct Response and Integrated Monthly Giving. Previously, Segar oversaw the U.S. Fund for UNICEF’s six regional offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, Houston and San Francisco as Vice President of Regional Fundraising.

Prior to joining UNICEF, Segar served as the Director of Development for Georgia Public Broadcasting, leading a team that set an organizational record and was then recognized nationally by PBS. Before joining public broadcasting, Segar worked at Bank of America as a Regional Vice President, overseeing 26 banking centers.
Outside of his work with UNICEF, Segar is a Founding Board Member and Corporate Secretary of the Elton John AIDS Foundation where he serves on the executive team. Segar also serves on the Advisory Board of Project Open Hand and is a lifetime member of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. In 2009, Segar was named Fundraising Professional of the Year by Fundraising Success Magazine.
