UNICEF and partners are leading the largest vaccine procurement and supply operation in history.
COVID-19 has upended the lives of children and families across the globe. Since the start of the pandemic, UNICEF has acted quickly to reduce the spread of the virus and minimize its negative impacts.
In 2021, UNICEF’s job is to ensure delivery of 2 billion vaccine doses for more than 180 countries, including and especially low- and middle-income countries. In addition, UNICEF will continue to respond to the impacts of COVID-19 on children’s lives around the world.
UNICEF has been entrusted with this enormous challenge because it’s the only organization with the infrastructure, experience and expertise to lead this effort. Every year, UNICEF helps immunize more than 45% of the world’s children—in some of the most remote places on Earth. UNICEF knows what it takes to procure, deliver and build acceptance for vaccines. But it will take help.
