Here at UNICEF USA, we have many reasons for optimism. Our mission, to put children first, is built on hope. In fact, UNICEF’s work should give everyone hope.

  • Since 1990, UNICEF and partners have helped cut global child mortality for children under 5 by 56 percent, saving 122 million lives.
  • Today, UNICEF helps vaccinate nearly half the world’s children, saving 3 million lives each year.
  • And no one knows more about emergencies than UNICEF, which responded to 344 last year, a record number.

At UNICEF USA, we seek your support because our goal is to give hope, too.  Each year, our supporters and donors help give nutrition, relief, health, education, safety and joy to millions of children around the world.  We also aim to educate and inspire the American public on urgent children’s issue.  During Fiscal Year 2017, we achieved many significant milestones.

  • UNICEF Kid Power mobilized hundreds of thousands of kids, educators and parents to walk more than 100 billion steps and help save the lives of 52,000 severely malnourished children.
  • Last April, nearly 350 of our supporters (a record number) from across the nation gave voice to children’s needs on Capitol Hill while other supporters sent 15,744 letters that day.  Together, our joint advocacy helped secure the U.S. government’s vital $132.5 million appropriation to UNICEF.
  • Most heartening of all, since our founding in 1947, our supporters’ generosity has enabled us to raise a cumulative total of $7.2 billion in donations and gifts-in-kind for children, including nearly $512 million in gifts during Fiscal Year 2017.

All this support for children represents a lot of hope.

Annual Report 2017

So much of UNICEF's invaluable work is only made possible by the striking generosity of UNICEF USA's supporters and partners — 471,305 individuals along with 10,168 partner corporations, foundations, NGOs, schools and clubs during Fiscal Year 2017.

Your compassion helped raise nearly $512 million to support UNICEF's work. UNICEF USA also helped secure $132.5 million in U.S. government appropriations during Fiscal Year 2017, funding that went directly to UNICEF.

All this support means the difference between life and death for millions of children around the world.

Thank you.
