Hilary Gumbel is a series producer specializing in educational content for networks such as The Learning channel, Discovery’s Family channel and NBC News’ educational platform. Gumbel’s passion is creating and distributing to students and families at home, and in the community with innovative storytelling to inspire and inform.
Ms.Gumbel has over 15 years experience in fundraising and advocacy for UNICEF USA. In addition to serving on UNICEF’s national board of directors since 2012, Hilary has also been a staff member; as a senior advisor she helped to formulate the UUSA brand marketing strategy and their celebrity ambassador program. In her effort to increase visibility for the needs of children worldwide she has traveled to Vietnam, Uruguay, Angola, Peru, Haiti, Senegal and Guatemala to visit in country UNICEF programs. In 2013 Hilary created the national best-selling cookbook, UniChef Top Chefs Unite; a first of its kind collaboration of top celerity chefs joining forces to help kids - with 100% of Ms. Gumbel’s royalties donated directly to UNICEF. Prior to moving to New York in 1999, Hilary worked in several brokerage firms before joining Goldman Sachs where she worked for six years. Ms. Gumbel resides in NY and Florida with her husband, television journalist Bryant Gumbel.
