Volvic's "Drink 1, Give 10" Campaign to Benefit UNICEF Clean Water Programs in Ethiopia

Building on the success of the initiative that began in Germany in 2005 and has since expanded to France and Japan, Volvic successfully launched the "Drink 1, Give 10" campaign in North America in 2008, donating $250,000 to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. In this "water for water" campaign, for every liter of Volvic bottled water purchased in the U.S. and Canada between April 1 and August 31, 2008, Volvic made a donation of four cents per liter to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF to enable UNICEF to provide at least ten liters of clean, safe drinking water to children in Ethiopia.
The funds raised through the campaign will support UNICEF water projects in two districts of the Benishangul-Gumuz region of Ethiopia to help improve the health of community members by increasing access to sustainable water supply through the construction of water supply systems, including the construction of 40 wells. The funds raised through the "Drink 1, Give 10" campaign will not only enable UNICEF to dramatically increase the availability of clean water, but also to fund a fully integrated water and sanitation package, ensuring maximum benefit to the community. Thanks to Volvic North America's donation over the course of the two-year campaign, 25,000 community members will receive water supply, sanitation and hygiene education services.
Between now and March 31, 2009, supporters of this campaign can mail in specially-marked "Drink 1, Give 10" Volvic labels, along with their receipts, to AMI Brands, "Drink One, Give 10, " 1417 6th Street, 3rd Floor, Santa Monica, CA 90401, and Volvic will donate four cents per liter to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF to support clean water programs in western Ethiopia. The on-pack "Drink 1, Give 10" promotion will relaunch in the U.S. and Canada in 2009, from April 1 through August 31.
*For each liter of Volvic bottled water purchased in the U.S. and Canada between April 1 and August 31 in 2008 and 2009, Volvic will donate 4 cents to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, with a minimum donation of $250,000 per year, to support UNICEF programs that will provide at least 10 liters of clean water to children in Africa, including building wells. UNICEF does not endorse any brand or product. No portion of the purchase price is tax-deductible.
