Planning Your Child Survival Viewing Party


The Survival Project: One Child at a TimeThanks for your interest in hosting a viewing party for "The Survival Project: One Child at a Time." This historic broadcast will air July 6 at 8:00 and 11:00 pm (ET) on CNN. Hosting a party is an easy way for you to join the fight for child survival.

Step 1: Register your event

Register Online

Note: The first 100 hosts to register will receive a packet of materials including UNICEF signs and buttons. Registration information will not be shared with outside parties and will only be used to assess the success of the program.

Step 2: Invite your family, friends, neighbors and colleagues

Gather the names of anyone you know who might be interested in supporting UNICEF's Child Survival campaign and let them know about your event.

Encourage those you invite to bring a guest who also wants to learn more about UNICEF and important global issues facing children.

Step 3: Watch "The Survival Project: One Child at a Time"

Ask your guests to complete the sign-in sheet (PDF, 46K)  and introduce themselves to other participants.

Tune in to CNN to watch "The Survival Project: One Child at a Time" at 8:00 or 11:00 pm (ET). CNN International times may differ, please check your local listings.

Encourage your guests to take note of the issues most important to them and to be thinking about their reasons for supporting the work of child survival.

Step 4: Encourage dialogue and extended learning

If your guests haven't already done so, advise them to visit www.unicefusa.org for more information about child survival, other ways to support UNICEF and to register as a volunteer. Distribute copies of the Take Action document (PDF, 46K) and Guest Feedback form (PDF, 40K).

Use the Discussion Guide (PDF, 44K) to facilitate a conversation about child survival and UNICEF or appoint a facilitator in advance.

Ask each of your guests to complete a comment form (PDF, 40K). We want to hear from everyone!

Take photos of your party!

Step 5: After your party

Complete the host feedback form (PDF, 46K).
