UNICEF Experience Dallas 2014

DonorsCatie Enricoand her husband Aaron chaired The UNICEF Experience Dallas on February 28, 2014.

After visiting UNICEF’s programs in Uganda last fall, it was a privilege for me to chair the third annual UNICEF Experience event and share my passion for helping the world’s children. The event was hosted by the U.S. Fund for UNICEF at The Fig in Dallas, Texas, and was the U.S. Fund’s third major event ever in North Texas.

A truly unique evening, the UNICEF Experience showcased UNICEF’s lifesaving work through interactive exhibits on child protection, emergency relief, education, Innovation, health and nutrition, and clean water, allowing guests to experience what vulnerable children in developing countries have to face just to survive. With nearly 200 guests, the event raised more than $366,000.

The most exciting part of the evening was being able to purchase Inspired Gifts, literally allowing guests to purchase lifesaving items that UNICEF will deploy into the field. In one night, our guests purchased thirteen Family Water Kits, sixteen Schools-in-a-Box, twenty-five Sets of Winter Clothes and much more.

In the live auction, guests had the chance to bid on Super Hero Packs, packages of healthcare interventions to protect children against deadly, preventable diseases. I am thrilled to announce our guests purchased 1,375 Super Hero Packs, which will enable UNICEF to deploy 68,750 vaccines, 1,375 vaccine carriers and 6,875 insecticide-treated bed nets.

The UNICEF Experience was a special opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the world’s children – all without leaving Dallas. I am so pleased we were able to inspire Dallas to set a new record, enabling UNICEF to reach even more children.
