Best. Halloween. Ever.

Some of my favorite childhood memories are from Halloween. Whether it’s laughing with friends or dressing up in silly masks, Halloween is always a fun time. It’s one of the most exciting holidays for kids around the country – and it can mean so much more for kids here and around the world, too.

This year, I’m so honored and excited to be the 2013 Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF Ambassador! This Halloween is extra special because, for the very first time, teachers can win a field trip to Tanzania to experience UNICEF’s lifesaving work firsthand. All they need to do is participate in the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF School Challenge! Teachers and students just have to come up with a creative activity to show how they are helping kids around the world. Then, send us photos or videos of your Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF activity. Have your teacher submit your entry online – and your teacher will be eligible to travel with UNICEF and win $1,000 for your class or a Cricut bundle. I can’t wait to see the creative ways that kids and teachers get involved this year. Both my mom and dad are teachers, and I know how important it is to be a global citizen and care about other people. It means that you can see yourself in others – whether they’re down the street or across an ocean. It means that you care about helping a child affected by hunger or war thousands of miles away get the same chances in life as you and I – to be safe, to grow, to learn, to play. If you want to make a better world for children everywhere, then join us! Get the word out! Tell all your friends, family and neighbors how you are helping kids around the world. Share your Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF plans with us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram by tagging your progress with #TOT4UNICEF. Order your kits online today and begin planning the Best. Halloween. Ever.

Love, Laura
