River Blindness Program

Merck is the U.S. Fund's largest in-kind supporter, through its donation of Mectizan, a drug used to fight river blindness, which begins with a parasitic infection that can lead to loss of sight and premature death. Merck is working with organizations like UNICEF to distribute the drug to all who need it.
