ING Chances for Children

ING empowers children worldwide through the ING Chances for Children initiative. This global program works to help young people discover their own potential through education, enabling them to build a better future for themselves and for their communities. Since the launch of ING Chances for Children in 2005, ING employees have been the driving force behind the initiative, donating their time and money to UNICEF-adopted projects in Brazil, Ethiopia, and India.

ING Foundation

Child-Friendly Schools in Peru

UNICEF Peru and the Municipality of Ventanilla—with the support of the ING Foundation—implemented UNICEF’s Child-Friendly Schools initiative, aimed at creating a model for education that encourages student, family, and community involvement. This global program is replicated in local communities and tailored to the individual needs of each region. The program seeks to guarantee the rights of every young person to a quality education and to contribute to engagement in education among students, parents, and the community.  In Peru, due to its tremendous success in Ventanilla, and through the support of the ING Foundation, UNICEF is expanding the model to the Callao region—a port area and part of the capital of Lima.

Math Education for Girls in Mexico

UNICEF Mexico, with the partnership of the ING Foundation and the Ministry of Education in Mexico’s capital area—the Federal District—is committed to investing in the greatest academic need for girls—math education. Through a process of intensive math training, cultural support, and social resources, girls in the Federal District can receive the interventions needed to help them succeed educationally and, eventually, professionally. This program seeks to develop a new culture of equality inside the public school system, with potential to spread throughout the whole country. The Math Education for Girls program is one component of UNICEF's work supporting the Ministry of Education to improve the quality of basic education for all children.

Cross-Collaboration

ING and UNICEF also partner worldwide around a collection of other nationally implemented activities, including volunteerism, customer fundraising activities, cause-related promotional initiatives, charitable donations, in-kind support, sponsorships and events, advocacy and the sale of UNICEF retail greeting cards and other products.
