India.Arie was appointed U.S. Fund for UNICEF Ambassador in 2004. She has helped raise funds and awareness for a variety of UNICEF's emergency relief programs.

Here's the latest on her efforts.
In early 2007, India.Arie is participating in UNICEF UpClose, an awareness-building campaign powered by Yahoo! Answers. The UpClose program is a new forum for discussing the challenges facing the world's most vulnerable children. She asked: "Do people realize how HIV/AIDS impacts children in developing nations?"
In November 2006, India performed at the third annual UNICEF Snowflake Gala in New York City. The Gala raised a record breaking $2.6 million dollars in support of UNICEF's mission to save and improve the lives of children in over 150 countries worldwide.
Proceeds from her new song, "What About the Child," will benefit children affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita through the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. Her performance of the previously unreleased single on "The Tyra Banks Show" is available for purchase as an audio download through a partnership with iAmplify.com.
Performing at UNICEF's Designs of Hope galas in Chicago in Spring 2004 and Atlanta in Spring 2005, India.Arie helped support programs that provide care and support of orphans and children made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS.

India.Arie performed at the November 2004 UNICEF Snowflake Lighting in New York City. The UNICEF Snowflake serves as a beacon of hope, peace and compassion for vulnerable children around the world.
During a field trip to Kenya in October 2004, India.Arie witnessed UNICEF-supported education programs that had become available to all children after the abolishment of school fees.
