UNICEF has projected a total cost of $500 million for all four years of the Accelerated Child Survival Fund, and plans to tap its own current resources for half of these requirements. The remaining portion will be sought from governments, foundations, corporations and individuals around the world.
With our base in the international city of Chicago, The U.S. Fund for UNICEF's Midwest Regional Office is taking the lead in raising the necessary funds to save these children's lives. There are 800,000 children in Chicago under the age of 18—the same number of children whose lives will be saved each of the next four years—through this Initiative. Because every child's life—whether in Chicago or Africa—is worth saving, the Chicago Chapter is inaugurating our first regional campaign, with the goal of raising $6.5 million from individual donors by 2010 to support the Child Survival Initiative's groundbreaking work. Donate now to support the campaign for Accelerated Child Survival.
With the generous help of the Chicago community and all those who seek better, faster ways to make a permanent difference in children's lives, we can ensure that millions of children in need have a brighter and healthier future.
There are few issues in the world that are as important and solvable as saving the world's children. We invite you to join UNICEF on the front lines of that fight. Donate now to support the campaign for Accelerated Child Survival.
