Robert Thompson
Robert Thompson is Senior Vice President of Development for the U.S. Fund for UNICEF and joined the organization in September 2008. He is responsible for the strategic direction and implementation of fundraising in the following areas: Major and Leadership Gifts, Planned Giving, Direct & Interactive Marketing, and Corporate and Foundation Partnerships.
Mr. Thompson's past experience includes serving as Senior Director of Development at Columbia University Medical Center where he was responsible for overseeing a $100 million alumni campaign as part of the Center's successful $1 billion capital campaign.
He was also Executive Director of Membership and Development for the United Nations Association of the USA, the nation's largest grassroots foreign policy organization and leading center of policy research on UN and global issues, and held executive level positions at the Institute for Cancer Prevention in New York, Financial Executives Research Foundation, and Wake Forest University.
Mr. Thompson is a graduate of Wake Forest University. His professional memberships and directorships include the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Council for the Advancement and Support to Education, Fundraising Day in New York, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Reeves Reed Arboretum and Summit Free Public Library.
