Nancy

Nancy Klaus was appointed Vice President of Development of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF in 2006. She joined the organization in 1999 as Chapter Director in Philadelphia, and later moved on to become Director of Development in Major Gifts at the National Office. From 2002 to 2006, she served as Director of the President's Office. In that role, she led the organization's Board Development initiative; managed the President's stewardship of important relationships with donors, directors and celebrities; managed all details around the Annual Meeting; spearheaded all meetings of the Board; and coordinated other organizational projects. Prior to joining the U.S. Fund, she served as the Capital Campaign Coordinator at the Philadelphia Geriatric Center and held fundraising positions in various arts institutions in Philadelphia.

Food interventions are crucial as Somalia faces worst-case scenario

Malnutrition is one of the biggest challenges facing Somali children today and according to an upcoming UN report, it could be getting worse. The report, to be issued by the Food Security Analysis Unit of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, indicates a worst-case scenario, according to UNICEF Representative in Somalia Christian Balslev-Olesen.
