Kevin P. Nelson

Nelson, KevinKevin Nelson joined the U.S. Fund for UNICEF as Vice President for Enterprise Partnerships in July 2011. In this position he is responsible for leading the organization in the development and implementation of an integrated fundraising, marketing, and engagement strategy to maximize the U.S. Fund’s existing brands and initiatives as well as develop new business opportunities and partnerships.

Mr. Nelson has more than 25 years of experience in health care management, policy and business development. Before joining the U.S. Fund, Mr. Nelson was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Hudson Health Plan - a non-profit New York State certified managed care organization that provides government health insurance programs to low-income children and adults and advocates for health policy changes and improvements on their behalf. Mr. Nelson oversaw company operations, corporate compliance, and the development of new programs.

Prior to his tenure at Hudson Health Plan, Mr. Nelson served as Manager of the Medical and Surgical Emergency Units at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, GA., and was Assistant Director of the Jersey City Medical Center’s Family Health Center in Jersey City, NJ. He earned a MPH in Health Policy and Business from Yale University School of Public Health and a Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Pittsburgh.

Mr. Nelson is President of the Association of Yale Alumni in Public Health and a former board member of the Association of Yale Alumni Board of Governors. Mr. Nelson also serves on other boards and commits much of his volunteer time to organizations that are dedicated to improving the lives of children. These organizations include Spence Chapin Adoption Agency, the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship to Children, YMCA Camp Combe, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
